Giardí means “garden” in the Valtellina dialect of northern Italy.
Our calling is to help garden lovers create an outdoor space that is not only aesthetic, but beyond.
A garden you can feel, connect with, immerse yourself in and truly enjoy — a place where you can forget the world and melt into its embrace.
And most importantly, a garden that is created to thrive year after year.
Who we are. What inspires us.
Our story begins with Alessandro, who grew up in the Alpine valley of Valtellina, near Lake Como in northern Italy.
His childhood was shaped by the natural rhythm of the seasons — growing fruit and vegetables, picking grapes and making wine in traditional ways passed down through generations, and enjoying meals made with ingredients from the family garden.
He loved creating topiaries, playing along garden paths, listening to birdsong, watching bees gather nectar, searching for mushrooms in the forest, and observing wildlife moving through the mountains.
Drawing was a constant passion, capturing local landscapes and the small details of everyday life.
This artistic curiosity later led to art school, majoring in Architecture, followed by a horticulture apprenticeship in the Lake Como region, where Alessandro immersed himself in the beauty of classic gardens, and the lake framed by mountains.
Inspired by Australia’s abundance of nature, unique wildlife, beautiful landscapes, diverse climates and lovely people, Alessandro moved to Australia to broaden his creative horizons.
Later, Candice joined the garden journey. With a background in design and a love of gardens, nature, colour and creativity, she brought a strong client-first approach and a shared desire to create beautiful spaces that people can truly enjoy.
Together, they founded Giardí Garden Co.
With our heads in the clouds, we are always dreaming, imagining and coming up with new ideas to make your garden better.
And with 17+ years of practical experience in the industry, we turn those ideas into reality — creating customised gardens that are beautiful, reliable and made to thrive for years to come.
As our team continues to grow, our heart remains the same: warm, thoughtful service, high-quality work and long-term relationships with our clients and their gardens.
Because to us, a garden is more than something to look at.
It is something to feel, to live in, to care for — and a quiet reminder of the beauty of creation and the gift of being part of it.
