Our Story

Giardí means Garden in valtellina's dialect.

Our leader Alessandro grew up in the Alpine valley of Valtellina near Lake Como in northern Italy.

Childhood was shaped by a natural rhythm, picking grapes with family, making wine in traditional ways passed down through generations, searching for mushrooms in the forest, and enjoying meals cooked with fruit and vegetables harvested from the family garden.

He enjoys creating topiaries, playing along garden paths, listening to birdsong, watching bees diligently gather nectar, and observing the wildlife moving through the mountains. Drawing was a constant passion, capturing local landscapes and the small details of daily life.

This artistic curiosity later led to art school, majoring in Architecture, followed by a horticulture apprenticeship in the Lake Como region where Alessandro immersed himself in the beauty of classic gardens and the lake framed by mountains.

Inspired by Australia’s abundance of nature, unique wildlife, beautiful landscapes, diverse climates and lovely people, Alessandro later moved to Australia to broaden his creative horizons.

There he met Candice, his life and business partner, who shares a love of drawing, colours, animals, nature and art, with a background in design and a strong client-first approach to service.
Together they founded Giardí Garden Services and Design.

From that journey came a simple and heartfelt purpose:
